Ken May, MD, PhD is a medical oncologist, with a special interest in prostate cancer. He is also a medical educator, teaching in the University of Washington/Montana State University WWAMI Medical Education Program as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. May grew up in Dayton, Ohio and received his MD and PhD degrees from The Ohio State University. He completed internal medicine and hematology/oncology training at Harvard Medical School (Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Mass General). Dr. May’s graduate, post-doctoral, and biotech research have all focused on immuno-oncology, seeking to better understand the immune system’s interaction with cancer, and to develop potential therapies harnessing the immune system to treat cancer. His research has been published in Science, Blood, Cancer Research, and Journal of Immunology, among others. He has also written about faith and medicine for Word on Fire’s Evangelization & Culture journal. Ken plays bass and sings vocals in the rock band Squirrel Gravy. He lives with his wife and mini-bernedoodle in Montana.
